Vegetable Biryani (Pressure Cooker)
A pressure-cooker vegetable biryani with fried onions and potatoes, mixed vegetables, biryani masala, curd, and whole spices.
Ingredients
- 1½ bowls rice (soak 30 minutes)
- 50 g carrots (cut into long pieces)
- 400 g peas
- 3 potatoes
- 4 onions
- 2 tsp biryani masala (Everest)
- oil
- ghee
- curd (yogurt)
- 9 cloves
- 2 pieces cinnamon (small)
- water (amount not specified)
Instructions
- In oil, fry the onion and potatoes.
- When the onion becomes light pink, add carrots and peas.
- Mix well; add boiled peas, potatoes, and carrots, then add biryani masala and curd.
- Mix again and let it cook for a while.
- Add the soaked rice and water, then add cloves and cinnamon.
- Cook in a cooker.
Tips
- Alternative order: first add rice to water; when the water boils, add carrot, peas, and potatoes.
- After 5 minutes, reduce the heat and let it cook.
- After 10–15 minutes, remove the rice in a strainer.
