Upma

A basic upma made by roasting semolina and cooking it with a mustard-seed tempering, chilies, tomatoes, curry leaves, and lemon.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 bowl rava (semolina) (roasted)
  • 2 bowls water
  • 6–7 green chillies
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 6–7 curry leaves
  • 1 lemon
  • salt
  • 4 spoons oil (for tempering)
  • mustard seeds (for tempering)

Instructions

  1. Roast the rava (semolina).
  2. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds.
  3. Proceed with tempering and cook upma using the listed ingredients (water, green chillies, tomatoes, curry leaves, salt, lemon).
