Tomato, Peas, and Onion Sabzi
A gravy-style mixed sabzi of peas and onions simmered with tomatoes and finished with red chili powder.
Ingredients
- 1/2 kg green peas
- 2 onions
- 1/4 kg tomatoes (chopped medium-size)
- salt (to taste)
- turmeric
- coriander powder
- garam masala
- red chili powder (added after second boil)
- oil (for tempering)
- mustard seeds (for tempering)
- cumin seeds (for tempering)
- 2 bowls water
Instructions
- Heat oil with mustard seeds and cumin seeds (tempering).
- Add peas and onions and sauté.
- Add all spices except red chili powder and add 2 bowls of water.
- When it starts boiling, add chopped medium-size tomatoes.
- When it boils again, add red chili powder and cook.
