Masoor cooked with onions and spices, finished with a hing tempering and some yogurt.

Ingredients

  • masoor (red lentils) (boiled first)
  • onions (added while boiling)
  • haldi (turmeric)
  • salt
  • red chilli powder
  • oil (for tempering)
  • hing (asafoetida) (for tempering)
  • dahi (yogurt) (add at end)

Instructions

  1. Boil the masoor, adding onions while boiling.
  2. Add haldi, salt, and red chilli powder.
  3. Add a tempering of oil and hing.
  4. Finally add some dahi.
