Green Tuvar Pigeon Pea Kachori Filling

Savory cooked green tuvar filling flavored with coconut, green chilies, lemon, sugar, and coriander for stuffing kachoris.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 kg tuvar (pigeon peas) (soak overnight)
  • 2 medium pieces coconut (chopped)
  • 4 pieces green chilies
  • salt
  • lemon (juice)
  • sugar
  • coriander
  • 4–5 tsp oil

Instructions

  1. Soak the tuvar overnight.
  2. Heat 4–5 tsp oil; add soaked tuvar and sauté on low heat, stirring, until cooked (about 15 minutes).
  3. Add coconut, green chilies, lemon, sugar, salt, and coriander; mix well.
  4. Use the mixture as kachori filling and make kachoris.
