Green Peas and Onion Dry Sabzi (Kopra-Style)
Dry-style peas and onions cooked with a spiced tempering and finished with a little water for doneness.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup green peas
- 2 onions (chopped into long pieces)
- 3–4 green chilies
- 3 tsp turmeric
- coriander powder
- salt (to taste)
- garam masala
- 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- asafoetida (hing)
- red chili powder
- oil (for tempering)
- water (a little)
Instructions
- Chop onions into long pieces.
- Heat oil; add onions and cook until they turn red.
- Add peas.
- Add all spices, cover, and cook on low heat for 2–3 minutes.
- Add a little water and cook until done.
Tips
- Using the same masala method, you can make tasty vegetable dishes with peas and onions and other vegetables too.
