Green choliya cooked with mustard-hing tempering and basic spices, simmered slowly and stirred occasionally.
Ingredients
- 400 g choliya (chopped)
- red chili powder
- salt (to taste)
- turmeric
- dhana-jeera (coriander-cumin powder)
- peas (mentioned in method; quantity not specified)
- oil (for tempering)
- mustard seeds (for tempering)
- asafoetida (hing) (for tempering)
- water (a little)
Instructions
- Heat oil with mustard seeds and hing (tempering).
- Add chopped choliya.
- Add peas, then add spices.
- Cover and cook; add a little water if needed.
- Keep on medium gas and stir occasionally.
- Cook for 1/2 hour on low gas.
