Bhuna Chokha na Dhakli na Shak
Gujarati dhakli-style dish where spiced dough pieces are cooked and finished with garam masala.
Ingredients
- 1/4 kg wheat flour
- 1 bowl peanuts (coarsely ground)
- 1/2 bowl cumin seeds
- salt
- red chili powder
- sweet chili powder
- garam masala (added near the end)
- oil
- ajwain (carom seeds) (mentioned in dough step)
- turmeric (mentioned in dough step and spice-water mixture)
- water (for dough and spice-water mixture; includes 1/2 bowl water for spice mixture)
Instructions
- Make a dough with wheat flour, salt, ajwain, turmeric, coarsely ground peanuts, red chili powder, oil, and water; knead well.
- Make a spice-water mixture using 1/2 bowl water with red chili powder, salt, and turmeric; spread it over the rolled dough.
- Cut into pieces and shape into dhakli pieces.
- Cook on medium heat for 15 minutes.
- Add garam masala and cook 5 minutes more.
