Methi na Gota

Soft fried methi (fenugreek) gota made from besan-wheat batter with yogurt, rested, then leavened and deep fried.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 bowl chickpea flour (besan)
  • 1/2 bowl wheat flour
  • 3 green chilies
  • salt (as per taste)
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • turmeric powder
  • 2 tablespoons yogurt (curd)
  • methi (fenugreek leaves) (chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon hot oil (added to mixture after resting)
  • baking soda (added before frying (amount not specified))
  • oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Mix besan, wheat flour, green chilies, salt, sugar, turmeric, yogurt, and chopped methi together.
  2. Rest the mixture for about 1 hour.
  3. Add 1 tsp hot oil to the mixture.
  4. Add baking soda and mix well.
  5. Fry small balls (gota) in hot oil until cooked.
