Dum Aloo

Potatoes cooked in a thick onion-garlic and tomato masala gravy seasoned with dum aloo masala.

Ingredients

  • oil
  • ginger garlic paste (a little)
  • onion paste
  • tomato paste
  • haldi (turmeric)
  • Navalkar curry masala
  • potatoes
  • peas
  • salt
  • water (to make gravy)
  • curry leaves (a little)
  • coriander

Instructions

  1. Heat oil; add a little ginger-garlic paste and cook until light pinkish.
  2. Add onion paste and fry well.
  3. Add tomato paste and fry until oil leaves the sides.
  4. Add haldi and Navalkar curry masala to make the gravy base.
  5. To prepare in water: add potatoes, peas, and salt.
  6. Mix the prepared gravy paste with a little water and add it to the potatoes and peas.
  7. Add a little curry leaves and coriander.

Tips

  • Can be made with onions and potatoes.
