Dahi Wada

Urad and moong dal wadas are fried, soaked in water, and used for dahi vada serving (final yogurt/seasoning steps not included).

Ingredients

  • 2 cups urad dal
  • 1 fistful moong dal
  • ginger-chili paste (added while grinding)
  • salt (added while grinding)
  • oil (for frying)
  • water (for soaking fried wadas)

Instructions

  1. Soak urad dal and moong dal for 4 hours.
  2. Grind coarsely, adding ginger-chili and salt while grinding.
  3. Heat oil for frying.
  4. Mix the batter well by hand in a thali, then immediately shape and fry the wadas.
  5. Put fried wadas into water and leave for 5 minutes.
  6. Soak just before eating.
