A pressure-cooked bottle gourd and chana dal curry tempered with spices and optionally tomatoes.

Ingredients

  • oil
  • hing (asafoetida)
  • rai (mustard seeds)
  • jeera (cumin seeds)
  • dudhi (bottle gourd)
  • chana dal
  • haldi (turmeric)
  • salt
  • dhana-jeera (coriander-cumin powder)
  • red chilli powder
  • jaggery
  • tomatoes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat oil and add hing, rai, and jeera.
  2. Add dudhi, chana dal, haldi, salt, dhana-jeera, red chilli powder, jaggery, and optional tomatoes.
  3. Pressure cook for 2 whistles.
